It all started with a tree!

So, now that I have started blogging, by joining somebody elses - Life In Chippendale - and written a couple of posts, maybe its time to have my very own! It will be a bit experimental for a while, but it mainly started because one of the beautiful Plane Trees in our street was quite suddenly removed after being damaged, we thought, by the contractors who renewing sewer and water pipes in the street. So, after writing to Sydney Council, and having a dialogue with the relevant councillors, I (and now the residents of Buckland Street Chippendale) have been reassured that the tree was already stressed, and would have needed to be removed anyway. The big concern had been for the survival of the other trees, which create a lovely avenue of green to walk under, would not suffer the same fate. At least the Council knows it would have a real fight on its hands should the removal of any of them occur.
